With its elegant mix of materials and compact dimensions (22 x 16 x 3 cm), the TESZLA evo is not only one of the smartest-looking aquarium lighting systems, but also stands out thanks to its clever control system and unique light distribution.

Despite its very low power consumption of a maximum of 90 watts, the TEZSLA evo tropic provides optimal lighting conditions even for demanding plants, colourful fish and aquascape layouts.

Setting new standards in its class

Thanks to the combination of efficient, high-gloss polished individual reflectors and a clear, prism-guided light distribution, the TESZLA evo, with a beam angle of 106 degrees, sets a new standard in its class. As a result, the TESZLA evo is not only a stylish and efficient solution for nano, shallow and cube aquariums, but is also ideally suited to larger aquarium systems. Six LED channels and six LED colours from the latest high-performance LED class allow for a detailed and customizable mix of all necessary spectra.

Efficiency in the tiniest spa

Thanks to the Diamond Prism light distribution, combined with highly polished individual reflectors, this compact and smart light is able to illuminate an area measuring 65 x 65 x 60 cm evenly, without sacrificing the popular ring effect.

This new lighting design achieves uniform, wide-angle illumination that is virtually loss-free yet at the same time virtually glare-free.

The new TESZLA evo tropic is splash-proof on the underside, meaning it can be mounted close to the water’s surface, and ensures constant brightness thanks to intelligent power management and high-quality LEDs. The sophisticated thermal management system ensures a long service life for the LEDs. With an exceptionally high light output from the white LEDs of more than 250 lumens per watt, the TESZLA evo tropic is particularly energy-efficient and, thanks to its 24-volt technology, absolutely safe.

Quality starts with the materials

Like all our lights, the TESZLA evo is manufactured in Germany from high-quality aluminium in a saltwater-resistant alloy.

Thanks to the special surface treatment followed by powder coating, the housing is completely resistant even to seawater.

Our new fan technology is whisper-quiet and offers much greater noise reduction than is usual with other LED lighting systems, as well as providing additional safety compared to passively cooled luminaires. This is made possible by the clever design of the light body, combined with an innovative electronic temperature control system. Several sensors constantly monitor the temperature of the individual components, and the fan speed is adjusted according to cooling requirements. Even at peak performance, the electronics are cooled and protected in a whisper-quiet manner.

The key difference: our high-power individual LEDs instead of RGB

Many suppliers on the market – particularly those offering low-cost imports from Asia – rely on RGB LED chips. In these systems, the colours red, green and blue are artificially mixed on a single tiny chip. Whilst this may appear flexible at first glance, it presents significant drawbacks for sophisticated aquascapes and deep water columns.

The Giesemann TESZLA evo tropic takes a completely different technological approach here, consistently relying on selected, highly efficient high-power individual LEDs in combination with genuine, varied shades of white. This results in unbeatable benefits for your aquarium:

• Seamless, natural light spectrum: Whilst conventional RGB lights have extreme gaps in the wavelength spectrum (they produce white light solely by mixing sharp red, green and blue peaks), the TESZLA evo tropic delivers a genuine, sun-like full spectrum. The result is incomparably brilliant, crystal-clear water without any artificial colour cast.
• Depth effect and significantly more light per watt: Due to their design, standard RGBW chips have very low optical output per colour channel. In deeper aquariums, they lose a significant amount of energy. Giesemann’s high-power individual LEDs, on the other hand, have the power required to penetrate the water column with ease. This ensures that the vital light energy (PAR) reaches your ground cover plants directly, even at greater depths.
• No algae blooms caused by incorrect spectral peaks: RGB and RGBW lights often emit light in wavelength ranges that primarily stimulate algae growth rather than plant growth. The precisely balanced spectrum of the TESZLA evo tropic precisely targets the photosynthetic absorption maxima (chlorophyll A and B) of your aquatic plants. Your plants will grow compactly and in the most vibrant colours, whilst algae are deprived of their food source.

Why lumens and lux can be misleading when it comes to plants

Many manufacturers specify the brightness of their lights in lumens or lux. However, these values are only of limited use when it comes to healthy plant growth and a perfect aquascape:

• Lumens (lm) & lux (lx): These units are based purely on the sensitivity of the human eye. Our eyes perceive yellow and green wavelengths as extremely bright. This is why lights with a high proportion of green often have high lumen values, which, however, have little effect on growth.
• The problem: aquatic plants ‘see’ light completely differently. For photosynthesis, they primarily require the blue and red parts of the spectrum – precisely the ranges that are heavily underrepresented in a pure lumen measurement.
• The conclusion: A cheap LED light may well produce plenty of lumens and make the aquarium appear as bright as day to the human eye, whilst the plants starve at the same time because the biologically usable PAR value is rock bottom. Thanks to its high-power individual LEDs, the TESZLA evo tropic delivers light exactly where plants need it.
