Smart Reef Lighting
With the TESZLA evo, we’ve packed all our expertise and premium ‘Made in Germany’ technology into the smallest possible space. With its elegant combination of materials and its dimensions (22 x 16 x 3 cm / 8.7 x 6.3 x 1.2”), the TESZLA evo is not only one of the smartest-looking aquarium lighting systems, but also stands out thanks to its intelligent control system and unique light distribution.
Despite its very low power consumption, the TEZSLA evo marine provides optimal lighting conditions even for demanding corals, when positioned correctly.
Setting new standards in its class
Thanks to the combination of efficient, high-gloss polished individual reflectors and a clear, prism-guided light distribution, the TESZLA evo, with a beam angle of 106 degrees, sets a new standard in its class. Consequently, the TESZLA evo is not only a stylish and efficient solution for nano, shallow and cube aquariums, but is also ideally suited to larger aquarium systems. Six LED channels and nine LED colours from the latest high-performance LED class allow for a detailed and customisable mix of all necessary spectra.
Quality starts with the right components
We also use premium-grade components when selecting our LED assemblies. These top-quality high-power LEDs feature a spectrum that maximises both colour rendering and coral fluorescence. By utilising various blue, violet and UV LED colours – divided into six individually controllable channels – healthy coral growth is facilitated, even for demanding SPS and LPS corals, whilst colours are rendered vividly.
The entire biologically relevant spectrum required for optimal, healthy coral growth is covered. With nine LED colours available, you can also set a boosted blue and UV spectrum if desired.
Everything you need
With a maximum power consumption of 90 watts, fitted with the latest generation of high-power LEDs from CREE and offering perfect light distribution, the new TESZLA evo marine is one of the most effective LED aquarium lights in its class. The design speaks for itself and the build quality is a testament to German craftsmanship.
For us at GIESEMANN, sustainability means that our ‘Made in Germany’ products are not only particularly energy-efficient and manufactured exclusively in Germany, but are also designed so that they can be easily repaired at any time.
Our high-performance electronics and the use of highly effective LED chips guarantee an optimal cost-benefit ratio. Thanks to the sophisticated control electronics, the LEDs are always operated within the optimal power range. This saves money whilst also providing sufficient power reserves.
Daily cycles with rising and falling power curves further reduce energy consumption.
Each of our LED aquarium lights is supplied with a particularly energy-efficient power supply unit operating at a 24-volt safety voltage; this, too, significantly reduces energy costs.

Key facts about PAR
- The range: PAR measures visible light in the wavelength range from 400 to 700 nanometres. It is precisely this spectrum that the symbiotic algae (zooxanthellae) in corals use to produce energy.
- The unit of measurement: The PAR value is measured in µmol/(m²·s) (micromoles per square metre per second). It indicates how many light particles (photons) strike a given area per second.
- Significance: Without sufficient PAR, corals cannot grow and will die. Too much PAR, on the other hand, can burn the corals (light stress). This is particularly the case when using optical lenses or very narrow-angle reflectors.
Guideline values for a reef aquarium
The required PAR intensity depends heavily on the type of coral:
- SPS corals (small-polyp stony corals): Require a great deal of light. The optimum range is 250 to 400+ PAR. They are therefore usually found high up on the reef and should be placed in the same position in the aquarium.
- LPS corals (large-polyp stony corals): Prefer moderate light. The optimum is 100 to 200 PAR. They are usually found in the middle or lower sections.
- Soft corals & disc anemones: Can manage with little light. The optimum is 50 to 120 PAR. They grow well on the aquarium substrate or in shaded areas.
